The nominal pressure of a valve, commonly referred to as PN, is a parameter used to indicate the maximum allowable operating pressure of the valve at a specified temperature. This pressure value is determined during the design and manufacturing process of the valve, and it is a crucial indicator of the valve’s ability to operate safely and efficiently. The nominal pressure not only reflects the structural strength of the valve but is also closely related to its sealing performance and service life. The classification of valves based on their nominal pressure is as follows: Vacuum valves: These are valves whose operating pressure is lower than that of standard atmospheric pressure. Low-pressure valves: These are valves with a nominal pressure of less than 1.6 MPa. Medium-pressure valves: These are valves with a nominal pressure ranging from 2.5 to 6.4 MPa. High-pressure valves: These are valves with a nominal pressure ranging from 10.0 to 80.0 MPa. Ultra-high-pressure valves: These are valves with a nominal pressure greater than 100 MPa.
