Stainless steel ball valve sealing structure
Ball valves generally use metal materials as sealing structures (also known as hard seals). With the development of engineering plastic technology, especially the emergence of polytetrafluoroethylene, ball valve sealing structures have become an ideal sealing material. The common soft sealing forms of ball valve main sealing structures include rigid sealing seats, sealing seats with elastic elements, PTFE lip sealing seats, and combination sealing seats composed of elastic expansion rings and PTFE lip sealing seats.
The lip type sealing seat has a lip shaped structure, which gives it good elasticity and can ensure the pre compression of the sealing surface during use, and can compensate for the pre compression of the sealing surface, which is superior to rigid structures. However, it was found during use that the elastic-plastic deformation ability and stability under temperature changes of polytetrafluoroethylene are still not very ideal, and it has a significant tendency towards cold flow; At the same time, due to the large range of pressure changes in the use of ball valves, lip seals made of polytetrafluoroethylene as a sealing material are still prone to leakage under lower pressure conditions or long-term use. The solution to this problem is to use a combination seal seat composed of an elastic expansion ring and a PTFE lip seal seat. It can rely on the good elastic-plastic deformation ability of the metal material elastic expansion ring to enhance its overall elastic-plastic deformation ability and compensation ability, and improve the sealing ability of the ball valve.
