Working principle of globe valve
Globe valve, also known as shut-off valve, is one of the most widely used valves. Its popularity is due to the low friction between the sealing surfaces during the opening and closing process, which is relatively durable, has a small opening height, easy manufacturing, and convenient maintenance. It is not only suitable for medium and low pressure, but also for high pressure. The closing principle of a globe valve is to rely on the pressure of the valve stem to tightly adhere the sealing surface of the valve disc to the sealing surface of the valve seat, preventing the flow of the medium. The "Three Modernizations" of valves in our country have stipulated that the flow direction of globe valves should be from top to bottom, so there is directionality during installation. The structural length of the globe valve is greater than that of the gate valve, and the fluid resistance is high. During long-term operation, the sealing reliability is not strong.
As one of the most important shut-off valves, globe valves play an important role in the aerospace industry. As an important component of aerospace equipment, globe valves achieve functions such as medium transportation, shut-off, and regulation. Their sealing performance directly affects the safe and reliable operation of aerospace equipment. Studying the influencing factors and laws of the sealing characteristics of typical globe valves has guiding significance for the structural design of valve sealing pairs, thereby improving the sealing performance and reliability of valves.
