Structure of ball valve

Ball valves feature good sealing performance, but the load exerted by the working medium on the ball is entirely transmitted to the outlet seal. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether the material of the seal can withstand the working load imposed by the medium. Under high-pressure impacts, the ball may shift from its original position. This type of design is commonly used in medium and low-pressure ball valves. The ball in a ball valve is fixed and does not move under pressure. Fixed-ball valves are equipped with a floating seat; when subjected to medium pressure, the seat moves, pressing the seal tightly against the ball to ensure a secure seal. Bearings are typically installed on the upper and lower shafts of the ball, reducing the required operating torque and making these valves suitable for high-pressure and large-diameter applications. To further reduce the operating torque and enhance the reliability of the seal, oil-sealed ball valves have been developed. These valves use a special lubricating oil between the sealing surfaces to form an oil film, which not only improves the sealing performance but also reduces the operating torque, making them particularly suitable for high-pressure, large-diameter ball valves.
