Structure of the ball valve

Ball valves feature good sealing performance, but the entire load exerted by the working medium on the ball is transmitted to the outlet seal ring. Therefore, it is essential to consider whether the material of the seal ring is capable of withstanding such loads. When subjected to high-pressure impacts, the ball may shift from its original position. This design is commonly used in medium and low-pressure ball valves. In these valves, the ball remains fixed and does not move under pressure. Fixed-ball valves are equipped with a floating seat; when the medium exerts pressure, the seat moves, pressing the seal ring tightly against the ball to ensure a secure seal. Bearings are usually installed on the upper and lower shafts of the ball to reduce the operating torque, making these valves suitable for high-pressure and large-diameter applications. To further reduce operating torque and enhance sealing reliability, oil-sealed ball valves have been developed. These valves use specially formulated lubricating oil between the sealing surfaces to form an oil film, which not only improves sealing performance but also reduces operating torque, making them particularly suitable for high-pressure, large-diameter applications.
